The magic of the Australian Open

behind the baseline

You only get four grand slams a year for a reason – because they’re where the standout moments occur. The highs, lows, drama, upsets and, above all, the unbelievable.

Open draw? No thanks…

behind the baseline

I’m a tennis fanatic. A no holds barred, will sacrifice sleep and spout random facts, on court and off court fanatic. There I’ve said it.

But whether you’re a fan or not, there’s no denying that this year’s Australian Open is fascinating.

Six time champ Djokovic knocked out in Round 2, then Sir Muzz ousted in the fourth – cue much chatter about an ‘open draw’ the likes of which haven’t been seen since a certain Roger Federer arrived on the scene…

But, let’s be honest, who wants an open draw? When it comes down to it, I want a Roger v Rafa final – just like the good old days.
